Spool Lock Solenoid

In customer applications where the performance, mounting, or other uniquely demanding technical requirements cannot be met by modifying our standard spool lock solenoid, Magnet-Schultz of America can provide a totally custom spool lock design.

Typical design features which can be tailored to meet the customer's requirements are:

  • Stroke
  • Internal pressure ratings
  • Mating threads
  • Manual actuation
  • Different connectors/terminations, and lead wire lengths

Increased user safety and system reliability are important benefits of Spool Lock solenoids by Magnet-Schultz of America. This variant on the well known shot bolt solenoid is intended for hydraulic applications, and is pre-threaded for screwing into a standard hydraulic manifold. When activated, the spool lock solenoid’s actuator locks firmly in place, and will not change its state unless authorized by a subsequent electrical input. Commonly found on boom lifts and other types of aerial work platforms, the presence of spool lock solenoids create assurance that a sudden change in solenoid state will not cause a dangerous change in a worker’s position.
