D-Frame Solenoids
D-Frame Solenoids (sometimes called Box-Frame Solenoids) fall into the mid-range of solenoid construction from the standpoint of Cost vs. Magnetic Force vs. Size. Although the most typical D-Frame Reference Design involves a pull style solenoid, push style solenoids can be provided.
The increased magnetic force of the D-Frame solenoid is derived from the fact that this design has steel on four sides of the device, thereby increasing the magnetic flux path generated by the coil.
D-Frame Solenoids are typically used for applications where slightly greater performance at a reasonable cost, is desired.
